1. He has been teaching business change and development in many industries at many locations for many years. He uses a wide array of formats including lecturing, demonstration projects and writing.  He has developed close relationships with many business executives who have helped with this teaching and researching.
2. He has been a teaching assistant at the Wharton School, while a PhD student, an instructor and later a visiting professor at the Institute of International Business, Stockholm School of economics, a professor in the Engineering School, Iowa State University and a professor in Architecture and Management at New Jersey Institute of Technology.  He has been a visiting professor in Japan, China, Finland and Sweden and worked to develop alternative theories of business internationalization. He helped initiate a leading international business think tank, The Institute of International Business, Stockholm School of Economics. He designed and carried out the Institute’s first research study. When he left the Institute it had more than a hundred million in its endowment.
3. His writing includes a three volume study of rethinking the regulation of international firms in terms of societal environmental concerns. This was funded by Swedish Parliament and came to be used by OECD to find alternatives to the legalistic model. It was later used by the US to initiate the non-regulatory Energy Star model.  His later study on rethinking ways to internationalize titled “Conditions of Success,” involved CEOs of sixty international firms in a two year study that helped re-frame an industry. It study results were later used by the World Economic Forum to launch a follow up study. He has written numerous private domain reports for various private companies.
4. He served as a member of a National Academy of Sciences Commission to study how new practices of business could be used to improve government operations in the construction and infrastructure sectors. He has worked as a dean to improve the way in which content is selected and delivered to students, and to demonstrate how industry leaders can help improve the educational process. He has raised millions for university related activities from companies and foundations for innovative chairs and programs.
5. He has been a consultant and adviser for many firms in many industries. His major areas of work have been: creating liquid enterprises, implementing principles of fluid management, new business initiation and development, business-government relations, and moving beyond the limits of strategic thinking.  He currently serves as a senior adviser to China’s largest company which recently issued an IPO and has become especially successful in international operations. He works closely with the Public Policy and Management School at China’s leading university and lectures in leading Chinese firms interesting in experimenting with alternative economic models and business practices.
6. He runs an experimental farm in Iowa, which has a corporate retreat used for meetings by various organizations. It is the “Center for Corporate Rehabilitation,” located near the center of his farm.  It was designed and constructed in a highly unusual manner, and is currently being used in a business case study for use at other universities.
7. He is a veteran of the Vietnam conflict.
